Best Christmas Cookies Ever!

Cream Cheese Cut-Out Cookies

1 C. butter
1-8 oz. package cream cheese (softened)
1 ½  C. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½  t. almond extract
3 ½  C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
---------------------------------------------------------------
Mix together butter and cream cheese - let stand a few minutes.
Add egg, vanilla, almond extract and sugar, beat well.  Beat in flour and baking powder.  Divide dough into two balls.  Cover and chill 1 ½  hours.
Roll out on floured board about ¼  inch thick. Cut cookies with desired cutter, placing them on an un-greased cookie sheet at least ¼ inch apart. Bake  8-10 min. at 350 degrees.

Icing: Mix together:
2 C. confectioner's sugar
2 T. butter
1/4 tsp. almond extract
Add milk so that it is the right consistency to spread on cookies.  (Use food coloring as you desire).

These cookies are very moist. An evangelist’s wife taught me how to make these cookies when we were starting our first church in Peoria, Arizona. I make them almost every Christmas! They are yummy!
